Five Celebration Pillars outline the activities that can be undertaken during the PCIM Celebration.
It establishes a guiding framework and action points to achieve the objectives of the PCIM and help propel the Philippines as Asia's Premier Creative Hub by 2030.
Creative Knowledge and Research (Pillar 1)
This celebration pillar encompasses a broad spectrum of knowledge-based, intellectual pursuits to expand human understanding and spark creativity and innovation through conferences, symposia, workshops, fairs, fora, capacity building, training, lecture series, and master classes. Writing and reading retreats, public debates, webinars, and research summits are some examples.
Creative Trade and Business (Pillar 2)
This celebration pillar includes revenue-generating activities primarily aimed at exchanging creative goods and services of commercial value. These activities in the form of business matches, trade fairs, export missions, and business expositions, among others.
Creative Performance and Live Production (Pillar 3)
This celebration pillar consists of live performances and productions staged before live audiences. Performing arts spans from theater productions, concerts and recitals, dance and drama, opera and ballet, streets and circus performances, improv and comedy shows, puppetry and shadow plays, film and movie screenings, among others. Performance can be in purpose-built buildings and open and covered venues, either public or private spaces, such as but not limited to traditional and black box theaters, opera houses, concert halls, dance studios, arenas, stadiums, cultural and historical sites, community centers, amphitheaters, and outdoor parks.
Creative Exhibition and Showcase (Pillar 4)
Creative Exhibitions and Showcases encompass a range of activities centered around the presentation and display of creative outputs and art pieces. This includes a range of activities from creating and displaying artworks to initiatives promoting creative tourism and guided tours highlighting existing cultural or artistic attractions. Unlike Creative Performances and Productions, where individuals perform live for audiences, Creative Exhibitions and Showcases primarily involve viewing and appreciating material objects, whether natural or visual arts.
Creative Challenge and Campaign (Pillar 5)
Creative Challenges and Campaigns encompass initiatives that involve engaging audiences through interactive and competitive activities, often merit, recognition, or award-based. These endeavors often prompt participants to think, move, or act in response to specific prompts or goals. Challenges and campaigns can take various forms, including online or social media-driven competitions, literary and writing contests, community projects, research challenges, marathons, hackathons, game jams, flash mobs, or any marketing efforts to promote creativity and encourage participation.
